Six Copies of the book Diary of a Volunteer  by  Mark Neville are now available

Diary of a Volunteer, self-published in 2025, is a photo book that charts artist Mark Neville’s attempt to carve out a radically ethical role for photography through the charity he co-founded, Postcode Ukraine. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Neville has been making frontline aid deliveries to those most severely impacted by the war, synchronously documenting the dangerous process and finding resonant contexts for the work to be disseminated in the West.

Printed in an edition of 1,000, around seven hundred copies were distributed free to a target audience including international media, politicians, historians, curators, the super-rich, and those with the power to help Ukraine. Earlier this year, Sharon Stone, Alyssia Milano, Stephen Fry, writers from the Ukrainian art scene, and Nobel Peace Prize winner Oleksandra Matviichuk co-curated twenty photographs from ‘Diary of a Volunteer’ in a fundraising, critically acclaimed exhibition at the Wende Museum in Los Angeles. More information about this can be found on this touring exhibtion at Postcode Ukraine website:

Neville has lived and worked exclusively in Ukraine since 2020. But in a rare appearance outside his adopted home, Neville will be in Paris to sign copies of ‘Diary of a Volunteer’. Postcode Ukraine is making six copies of this book uniquely available to Fotofilmic - https://fotofilmic.com/ - for this special book signing event.

It is expected that these rare six copies of the book will sell out in advance of the event, and they can be acquired here, on a first-come, first-served basis, by donating $500 to Postcode Ukraine:

https://www.postcodeukraine.com/donate

Postcode Ukraine, the charity Neville directs, is core-funded. This means that all donations, including those aligned with the acquisitions of his prints, films, and books ( such as this opportunity, go directly to helping those in need, not to overheads.

Simply email Neville at marknevillestudio@gmail.com, just in advance of your donation, with your contact details and Neville will reserve your copy of the ‘Diary of a Volunteer’, bringing it with him from Ukraine to Paris. He looks forward to meeting you there!
